After a stint at the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) working as the hearings clerk, Ese decided that the Intellectual Property (IP) world was one that she wanted to be part of and her IP story begins here.

Ese then joined a well-known UK Patent and Trade Mark firm where she worked as an Assistant Manager in the Trade Mark Records and Renewal Department.

Subsequently joining Rouse, a global IP firm specialising in Intellectual Property where she qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney in 2007, Ese worked as a senior associate heading the UK trade marks group in London with responsibility for the development and implementation of practices and procedures to ensure appropriate industry standards remain in place to support the functions of the trade marks group global operation.  This involved spending time in Asia and in particular China and Hong Kong working with local teams.

Ese spent almost two years on secondment at one of Rouse’s major clients in the alcohol and beverage industry in London, where she managed some of their key global brands on an international basis, also spending time in China on their behalf.

After 13 years at Rouse, Ese joined Pitmans LLP as Head of Trade Marks prior to joining Nucleus IP.  Ese specialises in Intellectual Property issues relating to trade marks, designs and domain names in the UK, EU and worldwide.  Specifically managing all aspects of prosecution, including searching, general pre and post filing advice, filing programs, disputes, appeals, assignments and licence projects, domain name and design issues and renewals, as well as portfolio management for clients ranging from individuals to SMEs to multi nationals in various sectors.

Ese is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and volunteers at the free business advice clinics offered by CITMA and the UKIPO where advice is given on brand protection and ways of avoiding infringement.
